Can the app flash or write to my ECU?

No, and that is deliberate. The app reads: fault codes, live data, identification and EEPROM. All writing - flashing, coding changes and immobiliser work - happens through the desktop software over the cable, where the connection cannot be interrupted by a phone call or a screen lock partway through a write.

Which cable does the app work with?

The VAGPULSE cable, which is included with the licence. It speaks K-line (KWP1281 and KWP2000) and CAN, so it covers Audi and VW from 1996 through the current cars.

How do datalogs get from the phone to the computer?

Over your network. Put the phone and the PC on the same Wi-Fi, or run a hotspot from the phone, and press Send to computer. The log appears under Log Files in the desktop software with a badge, ready to open in the tuning section.

Is the app on the Google Play Store?

The Play Store listing is in preparation. Until it is live the app is supplied directly to licence holders as an Android package.

Do I need a laptop in the car?

No. The cable runs off the car's 12 V through the OBD port and the phone connects over Bluetooth. Read codes, watch live data, record a log — no computer present.
